The Frontier Activation App is a streamlined mobile experience created to support airline staff during the passenger check-in and bag drop process. Focused on operational efficiency and ease of use, the app was intentionally designed with only three core screens to reduce cognitive load and eliminate unnecessary steps.
As the UX lead, I prioritized simplicity and speed—essential in high-pressure airport environments. Visual hierarchy, clear feedback (like animated scan confirmations), and intuitive error states ensure airline employees can quickly understand system status and take action. Error screens use red as a visual alert and provide specific messages like “Passenger Not Found” or “Bag Tags Not Activated,” enabling rapid issue resolution.
Beyond task flow, the app also surfaces key passenger details such as activated bag tags, flight departure time, and gate information. This empowers staff to provide wayfinding support and elevate the customer experience.
This project reflects my focus on designing purposeful, high-impact tools through collaboration with engineering, research, and frontline staff. It’s a great example of how UX can drive clarity and confidence in mission-critical workflows.
